Today we took a 30 minute bus to a bilingual church service with contemporary music. We went for Italian food for lunch in Shizuoka. It was delicious. After lunch we took the train to Aoki and went to a beach side hotel with a hot spring. The room was traditional but modern with outlets, electricity, and a T.V. The hotel provided welcome tea and snacks that were delicious. The room had futon beds, a bathtub/ shower in one room, a sink in the other and a toilet in its own separate room. Then we went to the public baths with guys on one side and women on the other. The bath house was quite nice. They had massage machines and massage places down stairs.When you enter the bath you take off your shoes and then you put your clothes in wicker baskets you get to keep a small towel for washing. They had scales for you to weigh yourself on and a place to put on cream and makeup after the bath and dry your hair. Then we went in and washed ourselves while sitting on stools and using a shower head and bowels with different soaps and hair products to use. You used the mini towel to wash yourself with. Then once you are clean you go and bathe in the hot springs. They had one pool inside and one outside. In the bath sometimes young boys are brought in with the women up until they are 10 years of age. After we got out of the bath we then washed ourselves again. For dinner we had a Japanese buffet with food from all over Japan with different styles and fresh fish. Sleeping in the hotel by the ocean you can hear the waves of the ocean.
