Day 9 - Thursday, June 30th

Today I listened to a Jr.High School children talk about the story of an atomic bomb survivor. It was very touching. After we rushed to the train and just made it. The train  took two hours to Fukuoka(Hakata). In Fukuoka we switched trains and took another train to Shin-Osaka. This train ride was three hours. Then a quick transfer to a train going to Kyoto station took about 5 minutes. The bullet trains Shinkansen was nice and clean with washrooms but you can't fill up your water bottle only buy food and drink on the train. Also the train was very fast and the scenery was nice to look at. Then we took the subway in Kyoto near the hotel, then we walked from there to the hotel. The hotel was quite fancy and clean and nice. The room had a big bathtub/shower, in the bathroom. Two double beds, a t.v, shampoo, conditioner, soap, bath robes, cotton swabs,  razor, toothbrush, hairbrush, hairdryer, towels etc. The prices in Kyoto are a little bit higher and there are a lot of tourists in the city mostly Japanese who are there to visit the religious sites.
